Pediatrics
“Listening is one of the most important parts of being a clinician.”
I always dreamed of being able to help people, and I’ve always been interested in science. That passion motivated me to go into medicine. In pediatrics I saw an opportunity to make a big difference in someone’s life by focusing on preventive medicine. But beyond that, I just really enjoy spending time with kids.
It’s fun to answer their questions and explain things on their level because they’re always eager to learn. Seeing children heal well and knowing that my work makes a real difference is incredibly rewarding. I also love having a relationship with families, which is one of the biggest reasons I enjoy pediatrics. I get to watch the kids grow and truly get to know their families over time.
For me, listening is one of the most important parts of being a clinician. I try my best to fully understand a family’s true concerns and address them. Taking the patient as a whole is essential—understanding not just their medical conditions but also their lifestyle. I strive to consider that in every aspect of care.
