Our Harvest Café was designed to combat the negative stereotype of hospital food, offering healthy and delicious options for families, visitors and patients. Meals include organic options, locally sourced ingredients, a pizza oven and grill. The café is located in a spacious and open environment with indoor and outdoor seating which feels more like a local bistro than a hospital cafeteria.
Our goal is simple: we want to ensure our patients, their families and our doctors, nurses and health care teams are eating healthy food because that can lead to faster healing and better care.
Located in the Main building on the first floor.
Hours: 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
In addition, there are several options available throughout the broader Stanford campus. Visit the Stanford campus.
The hospital provides food for patients. If the care team says your child can eat, you can order food anytime between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. daily. You can order food using the menu in the room. There are no set mealtimes.
The patient’s family and visitors may bring food for themselves or buy it from the hospital cafeteria or nearby restaurants. If you need help getting food while your child is in the hospital, ask your nurse to call a social worker. If you choose to bring food from home, you can use the family lounge on the Main Building’s second, third, fourth, or fifth floor to store and prepare food. There is a microwave and sink in each lounge.
Family Food Bags with ready-to-eat food is available in each hospital unit. If you cannot get enough food at any time while your child is in the hospital, ask your child’s nurse for a free food bag. There are also food bags and coffee and tea in the Family Resource Center.
California Children’s Services Food Vouchers are available from the social worker for current CCS clients. If you have questions about CCS, please ask to speak to a social worker.
Stanford Children’s Food Vouchers worth $10 are available for purchase from the cashier in the Harvest Café. You can use these vouchers to have food delivered to your child’s room. Place an order by calling the number on the front of the menu in your child’s room. The $10 guest meal includes one entrée, two sides, one fruit or dessert, and one beverage.
Stanford Children’s Grubhub App can be downloaded from the App Store on your mobile device. Open the Grubhub app and search for LPCH. You can purchase a guest meal for $10 and order from the menu in the room. They will call to confirm the order, then deliver the tray to your child’s room.
