Physical Therapy

Patients with pectus excavatum benefit from building their chest and back muscle strength prior to surgery. This helps improve the cosmetic appearance of the chest and helps with optimizing posture. These exercises may help slow the progression of their chest wall depression. Your team will provide you with a dedicated handout of exercises at your consultation visit. Having your child work with a personal trainer at school or a local gym can also be beneficial.
